From Formal Living to Cozy Coastal Family Room

A cozy coastal family room doesn’t just happen. While the color palette is simple, there’s a hunt required for texture… to break up the neutrals, and of course, add softness. After a coat of Benjamin Moore’s controversial China White paint on the walls and Harwood Putty on the trim, it was time to shop for sofas, a rug and upcycled tables.

GET THIS COASTAL FRENCH LOOK:
Remington Sofas – Deep and wide in a Sunbrella canvas that conjures sailcloth … the perfect Coastal French anchor for this room.
Riviera Stripe Curtains – The name says it all in this timeless linen/cotton blend from Pottery Barn.
Softest Knit Wool Rug – What’s more nautical than knits? Now imagine one spread across your family room floor. All day, yes.
Side tables and coffee table are upcycled pieces. Lamps are discontinued (see below for similar pieces I’d consider!)
(Some links are affiliate, which means we might receive a small commission at no cost to you).
SIMILAR PIECES I’D CONSIDER:
Norwich Lamp (Cream or Black) – Its earthy and tactile jute shade and bulbous paper-mâché body practically scream ‘touch me’.
Giacomo Coffee Table – Pretty close look to our upcycled Ethan Allen table, but this comes with casters!
Marston Side Table – For a pop of brass and something circular to stand up to all those rectangles in the room.
