Yard, Stage 2: Garbage Can Gravel Pad (made by a girl)
Ok, made by a woman, but I liked the alliteration for the title. Garbage cans are a necessary evil. But I don’t have to look at them adorning my driveway, do I? I channeled my inner mason (apparently, my great-grandfather was one), and made a garbage can gravel pad. I really don’t know jack about this stuff, but I figured the worst I could do was make something that washed out. Well, shock of shocks, it hasn’t yet … in three-plus years. All I did was level the dirt, lay a couple of big pavers (loading those in and out of the minivan was the hardest part), and neatly scattered some small white gravel around them. Ta-da … obnoxious royal blue and gray garbage bins out of sight!
